About Classtrad

Class Trad is an exciting traditional show illustrating various aspects of the Irish culture.

Class Trad aims to bring music, song and dance to audiences, particularly through schools, clubs and youth organisations. We also aim to provide an experience of the very best of Irish culture to people who may not have experienced the tradition.

Class Trad comprises a variety of Irish traditional musical instruments, allied to some of the finest traditional singers and the very best traditional Irish dancers. Class Trad provide highly accomplished performers, having played to audiences both on the national and international stage including continental Europe, North America and Asia. All Class Trad performers have a track record in teaching.

 

 
 
 

 

 

The Class Trad singers give a wonderful performance leaving audiences in awe of their exquisite voices and delivery of song. The repertoire of well-known and not so well-known traditional airs and ballads will have pupils singing along, learning the airs and histories of the songs, and gaining an appreciation for the song and singer. These singers switch roles to become tutors when pupils are taught simple traditional songs.

Class Trad has a number of internationally acclaimed Irish traditional dancers including many World Champions. Contemporary dance and sean-nós dancing as well as the traditional brush-dance are displayed and selected pupils are taught simple dances during the performance.
