The show integrates the various forms of high-quality Irish traditional performance arts while simultaneously providing opportunities for pupil activity. These activities incorporate the three curricular strands - listening and responding, performing and composing.

The Class Trad show includes a varied repertoire of Jigs, Reels, Slow Airs, Hornpipes, Polkas, Slides and other melodies, with introductions to the pieces, a history of the instruments, explanations of the rhythms and discussion and question sessions.

The Class Trad performance involves whole class participation, where the pupils are encouraged to participate as appropriate.
